  19. Video presentations in Presents version 1.4 on a MIPS R4000 computer
  20. return the message "Error in reading disk," the error code
  21. 047:000:000, and then fail completely.
  22.  
  23. During testing on RISC-based computers, error messages were received
  24. consistently whenever a presentation was run. In one test, Presents
  25. returned to its window after the first frame was displayed and
  26. generated an error message stating that the video presentation could
  27. not get a system timer and that it would have to be run manually.

  29. CAUSE
  30. =====

  32. On RISC-based computers, the application destroys the full-screen
  33. window used for presentations.
  34.  
  35. WORKAROUND
  36. ==========
  37.  
  38. If you switch to VGA graphics, you do not receive the error message.
  39. The presentation is recorded in a much smaller VIDPRES.CPV file (168K
  40. versus 1800K) and plays back correctly.
  41.  
  42. This was tested under Windows 3.1 and Windows NT configured for VGA on
  43. x86-based computers. No error messages were generated.
